We were approached to undertake the design and fit out of some large offices in Spring Gardens for a large multi-National consultancy. The companies’ main offices were in Cairo, with offices in all parts of the globe, England, America, Abu Dhabi, Australia, and many more. Their work covered all forms of design and construction from bridges, buildings, oil refineries, and many more.
The new building was located at Spring Gardens, London, consisting of four floors, each covering two hundred and thirty square metres.
The program was extremely short and was phased by floor, ground, forth, third and finally first, a twelve-week programme for the grounds floor, then subsequent floors at ten-day intervals.
It was an exciting project, if not extremely stressful on occasions, but each floor was designed and installed to the timetable and the clients were delighted with the work.
The relationship led to many more projects, some being directly commissioned to the practice, twice competitions, each of which we won, and finally often working as part of their teams, producing the concepts and drawings for ‘The Home of the Two Holy Places’, in Madina. A ‘Sea World’ in Iraq, an interior of a large house in Dubai, and many others, requiring us to work in many different parts of the Middle East.
